EPISTLE OF PHILEMON - 1. WRITER: Paul (vs1) "A prisoner of Jesus Christ." 2. KEY VERSE: (vs 10) "I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, which I have begotten in my bonds." 3. MAIN THEME: Appeal For Onesimus a. Paul did not enforce his authority, but appeals on the basis of love. b. Presents a picture of Christ's concern for us. c. Onesimus was a run away slave who met Paul in prison at Rome. Paul witnessed to him and he was saved. Onesimus is sent by Paul back to Philemon who was Onesimus' owner. |
