EPISTLE OF JAMES - 1. WRITER: James (Js 1:1) "a servant of God and our Lord Jesus Christ." 2. COMMENTS: James is thought to be one of the earliest New Testament epistles, written approximately 45 AD. Following His resurrection, Jesus Christ appeared to James (1 Cor 15:5,7). James was one of the leaders in the church at Jerusalem. He was also the leader at the Jerusalem council (Acts 15:13, 19). Josephus said James was thrown from the wall of the temple, stoned and also clubbed to death by the Jewish leaders. |
