Paul (2 Tim 1:1) This is his last letter.

2. KEY VERSE:
(2 Tim 4:5) "But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry."

Letter To A Christian Soldier

Paul was again in prison (1:16-17; 2:9).

COMMENTS:
Paul knows he is about to be executed (2 Tim 4:6-8). Key words in the epistle are: Suffer, Endure, Word, Diligent. There is something about the scripture is each chapter of the epistle: (1:13), (2:15), (3:15-17) and (4:2). There are seven metaphors used in 2 Timothy: Son-relationship; Soldier-warfare; Athlete-conditioning; Farmer-laborer; Workman-preparation; Vessel-purity; Servant-obedience.
